AnaGain for Hair Growth: Is it Effective?

AnaGain for Hair Growth: Is it Effective?

If you’ve ever dreamed of having thicker hair, you’re not alone. Hair growth is a common goal for both men & women, especially as we age and find ourselves with fewer “good” hair days.

For those looking for an effective treatment option for your thinning locks, AnaGain might be right for you! We’ve got all the details below!

How Much Hair Loss Is Normal?

About 25% of women and 50% of men, and over 50 suffer from hair loss. The question is, how do you know if you have normal hair loss?  According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), losing between 50 and 100 hairs per day is normal. But if you’re noticing more hair than usual falling out, receding hairline, bald spots, or shedding more than 150 strands in the shower or brushing, it could indicate an underlying health problem.

The Hair Growth Cycle

Before we go to the reasons for hair thinning or hair loss, it’s essential to understand the hair growth cycle, shown below.

Anagen Phase

In the anagen phase, hair follicles are actively growing. It lasts for two to six years, during which time the hair grows at a rate of about one centimeter per month. During this phase, skin cells divide to produce new cells that form the root of the hair. New hair also pushes existing hairs up and out of the follicle, so they shed.

Catagen Phase

The catagen phase occurs when the body stops making new cells in the papilla (base) of the hair follicle and begins breaking down old ones. The papilla shrinks and moves upward into the dermal papilla (skin layer) as it prepares for its next cycle.

This phase lasts about 10 -14 days and is a transitional stage between anagen and telogen. During this time, small amounts of blood flow cease at the base of each follicle, and it detaches from its dermal papilla as it enters into a resting phase called telogen.

Telogen Phase

A hair’s growth cycle rests in the telogen phase. During this phase, the hair follicle remains dormant and does not produce a new hair. Approximately 10% of your hair is in this phase at any given time. When the hair reaches its maximum length in telogen, it eventually breaks off from the scalp and falls out. This phase lasts for about 3 months before the next anagen phase begins.

A person with a normal hair cycle has 85% of their hair in the anagen phase and 15% in the telogen phase. Patients who suffer from hair loss have an imbalance in the hair growth cycle where too many hairs remain in the telogen phase. Several factors can contribute to this imbalance, as discussed below.

Hair Loss Causes

There are several common causes of hair loss which include:

Genes

The most common cause of excessive hair loss is hereditary (or genetic) baldness. Androgenetic alopecia or female pattern baldness (FPB) or male pattern baldness (MPB) causes receding hairlines and thinning of hair at the crown, with early onset balding on the front and top of the head while sparing the sides. This can affect both men and women.

Medical Conditions

Among the most common medical conditions that lead to hair loss include

  • Thyroid disease

  • Iron deficiency

  • Nutritional deficiencies

  • Stress-related illnesses

  • Physical trauma (such as burns)

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Alopecia areata (patchy baldness)

  • Lupus erythematosus (lupus)

Medications

Medications can cause significant hair loss in some people. These treatments include:

  • Antibiotics

  • Birth control pills

  • Hormone-replacement therapy

  • Cancer treatments

Hormonal Changes

Hormonal changes can lead to temporary hair thinning and loss. These include

  • Pregnancy

  • Menopause

  • Hypothyroidism

Aging

As you age, the body will produce less protein needed for healthy hair growth, so you may notice more shedding as you grow older.

Is Anagain Effective for Reducing Hair Loss?

AnaGain™ is an advanced hair growth formula from organic pea sprouts that you can use in several ways to promote healthy hair growth. The formulations for pea sprout extract are anti-hair loss and hair regrowth products, hair rejuvenation products, as well as tonics, serums, conditioners, shampoos, and masks.

A pea plant (Pisum sativum) produces pod-like fruits. The AnaGain nutrients from organic pea sprouts contain phytonutrients with known health benefits. In addition, pea sprouts contain many essential vitamins and minerals, along with biotin and L-arginine, which support hair health.

The critical function of AnaGain is to stimulate dermal papilla cells, thereby reactivating hair growth, thus reducing hair loss. The dermal papilla is integral to hair follicle development and growth.

By analyzing DNA microarrays of plucked hair follicles, AnaGain was found to stimulate the formation of new hair by activating specific signal molecules in the dermal papilla. The pea sprout hair growth formula keeps the hair density and thickness at their original levels by reactivating the hair growth process.

The three main benefits of using AnaGain for hair are the following:

  • Slows down hair loss by extending the hair life cycle

  • Restores hair vitality and boosts hair growth

  • Boost your hair’s density in just three months

In a clinical trial, ten volunteers, four females and six males, aged 46-60, applied 2% AnaGain scalp fluid twice daily for 14 days to the specific scalp area. The study shows that AnaGain:

  • Restores hair regeneration by 78% to a normal level

  • Induces new hair growth by stimulating the dermal papilla

  • Reactivate hair growth by decreasing the quantity of hair in the telogen hair phase and stimulating anagen hair

  • Participants had an improvement in their hair’s overall condition

Tips on How to Prevent Hair Loss

It is a fact that the quality of your hair is affected by many factors. Some factors, such as burns, are out of your control. However, you can take steps to prevent hair loss and keep your hair healthy.

The following tips will help you prevent hair loss:

  1. Drink a lot of water.

  2. Eat a healthy diet of minerals and vitamins, including iron, protein, and vitamin B12.

  3. Exercise regularly to keep your circulation strong.

  4. Get enough sleep each night to allow your body to repair itself after the wear and tear of the day’s activities.

  5. Reduce stress through meditation or other stress-relieving activities like yoga or journaling.

  6. Try not to wash your hair too often (every other day instead of every day). If you wash it too often, it will lose its natural oils and become dry and brittle; this can cause breakage and dullness, which leads to more breakage.

  7. Limit your use of chemicals such as dyes, bleaches, and perms. Also, avoid using hair dryers, curling irons, and hot rollers on your hair. These appliances can cause damage to your hair and scalp by drying it out, which can lead to hair loss.

  8. Don’t overuse hair products that contain alcohol or other ingredients that may dry out the scalp.
